Meet the Owner – The Heart Behind Legend Comfort Care
My name is Dyshenique Wade, and caring for others has always been more than a job to me — it’s my purpose. After years of working in healthcare and serving seniors through the VA, I realized that so many families just wanted one thing: peace of mind. A place where their loved one would be treated with dignity, seen as an individual, and genuinely cared for.
That’s why I created Legend Comfort Care — a family-style assisted living home built on compassion, connection, and comfort. Here, residents aren’t “patients”… they are part of our home. From personalized daily care to birthday celebrations and movie nights, everything is done with intention and heart.

What is the move-in process like?
We guide you every step of the way to make moving in simple and stress-free. Here’s what the process looks like:
1. Schedule a tour – We’ll walk you through the home and answer all questions.
2. Care assessment – We learn about your loved one’s needs, routines, and preferences.
3. Admission packet & paperwork – We help complete everything (you won’t be alone).
4. Room selection – Choose a private or shared room based on availability.
5. Move-in day – We welcome your loved one, help them settle in, and meet the staff.
6. Family check-in – We update you on how the first week is going and ensure everyone feels comfortable.
From the very first day, your loved one becomes part of our family — and you do too.
How do I know my loved one will be safe and well cared for?
We provide 24/7 supervision, medication reminders, assistance with daily living, routine safety checks, and constant communication with families. We also go above state requirements to ensure safety, cleanliness, and comfort at all times.

The only things residents bring are their clothing and personal items — we take care of everything else.
Do you accept Medicaid or VA benefits?
Yes — we accept private pay, Medicaid, and VA benefits. We’ll guide you through the process and help you understand all payment options available.
Can residents continue seeing their current doctor or healthcare providers?
Yes. We coordinate with doctors, therapists, and home health services to ensure continuity of care. We also provide transportation to appointments at no extra cost.
Are meals customized for diabetics or dietary needs?
Yes — we accommodate dietary restrictions such as diabetes, low sodium, soft foods, and more. Meals are prepared fresh daily and adjusted to each resident’s needs.
What happens if my loved one needs a higher level of care later on?
As needs change, we adapt. We offer memory care, mobility assistance, and bedbound support. If advanced care is required, we will help coordinate a smooth transition and guide you every step of the way.
Do residents share rooms or have private rooms?
We offer both options, based on preference and availability. All rooms are comfortable, cozy, and designed to feel like home — not a facility.
Can family visit anytime?
Family is always welcome. Visiting hours are open throughout the day, with final visits ending at 9:00 PM to protect residents’ comfort and rest. We also encourage video calls and celebrations with loved ones.
Do you offer activities or outings for residents?
Yes! We believe life doesn’t stop at assisted living — it should be enjoyed. We provide daily activities as well as planned group outings, including:
